If you're someone who lives in a densely populated town or city, you're bound to have encountered a situation where someone has unexpectedly parked in your parking space. This problem is most acute in front of apartment blocks, where the number of parking spaces is limited and there are often several vehicles per apartment trying to park themselves in front of the building. What can be done? Many condominium associations have recently taken the route of allowing apartment owners to buy their own private parking space next to the apartment building when they buy the apartment, or have solved the situation by providing numbered parking spaces so that each apartment owner has a parking space allocated to him or her. But how can this parking space be "protected" from strangers who want to park there? The solution is parking barriers.

What is a parking lock?

A parking barrier is a physical or electronic barrier designed to restrict or control the movement and parking of vehicles in certain areas.

Parking barriers are useful in a wide range of environments, including public car parks, commercial buildings, residential areas, shopping centres and other places where it is necessary to organise parking or restrict access to certain areas. They help to ensure security, reduce traffic congestion and maintain orderly parking arrangements.

Which parking screen to choose?

Our online shop offers both manual and electronic parking barriers.

Manual parking barriers

The simplest parking space consolidators are cones. They do not need to be separately fixed to the ground and are easily portable. They are ideal for use in front of cafes/restaurants, for example, or at events where it is necessary to mark out parking spaces that need to be restricted.

Parking barriers are also easy and convenient to use, as they can be opened and closed manually as required. We have a range of differently shaped barriers that can be locked with either a key or a padlock. They do not require sophisticated electronic systems or special techniques.

The parking barrier can be unlocked with a key and when leaving the parking space, and when the barrier is lifted, it locks automatically without a key.

The advantage of manual parking locks is their low maintenance costs. They require little maintenance as they do not have complex mechanisms or electronic components. Regular cleaning and visual inspection are usually sufficient to ensure that they are functioning properly. In winter, they can be removed altogether, if desired, to prevent them from being blocked by snow-ploughs.

Electronic parking barriers

Electronic parking barriers offer a number of advantages over manual barriers. They have the added bonus of easy manoeuvrability and convenience. Electronic parking barriers can be controlled via remote control, map reader or smartphone app. This makes it convenient and easy to open and close parking barriers without having to get out of the vehicle or use physical force. In addition, the app-controlled parking locks have the added feature of temporarily giving out a digital key to visitors if, for example, you are the owner of a salon or boutique and there are only a limited number of parking spaces in front of the building for customers.

The downside, of course, is the price of electronic parking barriers, which are many times more expensive than manual parking barriers. So everyone makes their own choice according to need and means.
